It seems weird that a year could be filled with equal parts growth and loss, but that is the perfect way to describe my 2023. My son started his intensive chiropractic care journey as moving from the country into town sent his nervous system into constant fight or flight, resulting in behavior, focus, sleep, and gut issues. My mama instincts knew this was not something he would just grow out of, and thankfully I knew exactly where to start. Since starting Magnus is back to being his fun and outgoing self!

Roles in my house switched as my husband was home all summer recovering from a pretty gnarly wrist surgery. Because of this, I did not go back home to visit my family in Bakersfield, and your girl is very homesick! In the same breath, our little family of 3 grew so close and we spent so much quality time together. Some of you know, but for those who do not, I put my first dog- my soul dog- to rest. I know it may sound crazy, but he told me it was time, and he was done battling cancer. Less than a week after that, I experienced a miscarriage. In all of this, I was reminded of God’s goodness, plan, and presence in my life. I was also reminded of how supported and loved I am as those around me rallied and came alongside me through the last couple of months, including some of YOU and I am so thankful for you all! In these losses, I learned to surrender and in surrender I found peace. I am heading into 2024 with a heart full of gratitude.

2023!!Finding the Joy in the journey.... Truly, 2023 a lane change for me with so many parallels of blessings and gifts from God. After almost 20 years of working from home - Yes, I worked from home before everyone was thrown into it. These years were not pajama days for me. I was asked often, "Ohhhhh, that would be awesome, do you wear your pj's all day?" A resounding, No, I am on my perch and publicly presentable, lol, Every day! Which is a great thing because in mid 2023, I joined the team at Health 1st. Grateful for this new lane that graced me to work with INCREDIBLE HUMANS and get to know even more AWESOME Humans in their health journey - as they come to see Dr. Gina.

More joy in the journey of 2023. My grandkids are the coolest and growing so fast - - don't blink goes for grandkids, too. FIVE of them who put me in a puddle of love; Knox, his voice is changing(aka don't blink, drivers license just ahead), Lyla Jean, she bounces with JOY every day - it is in her DNA, JaxxMan, this kid can read - and loves it - he reads the Bible and all of the names, places and words I cannot. Lennan is her Momma's Mini Me, in loving CATS, and Miss Emma Faythe, well, she is all sparkle and poise with kick your heels up sass.

Back to CATS, Who do you think my daughter and granddaughter got their love of cats from......YES, ME! Ernie turned 17 the first week in December. I have only 1 cat (a crazy cat lady - yes - but with only 1), He and I have been through alot together. He is the star of the neighborhood, as he goes outside like a dog - has since he was a kitten. He says hello to the neighbors with his deep grunt of sorts.

And last but not least, serving at church moves me - - I may dance a little too much (according to a few) to the music - - it is simply me, giving all PRAISE for this journey, in the lows, tough times that did come about in 2023, I am heartfelt grateful He never let go.

Energy and Serenity to you all as we ring in 2024!

What a year! 2023 has been both good, bad, and everything in between. But at the end of the day, I survived it and came out all the better for it, plus now I'm working for Health 1st which is absolutely the coolest!

I went from living in Wisconsin my whole life to moving to an apartment in Minnesota, my first ever actually, and went through a few jobs meeting a bunch of amazing people.

At the end of the day I was able to find a job working with Health 1st and their team and I feel like this is a place I could see myself at for a good long while. I appreciate the opportunity given to me for me to be here and I don’t want to waste it.

I know 2024 can be a much better year for me and all I have to do is make it happen. Happy holidays everyone and happy new year!

As another year passes and I reflect on the lessons and accomplishments of 2023, the word POWERLESSNESS comes to mind. Throughout the years I have experienced nudges reminding me how much I believe I am in control of and WHAT I’m truly in control of. 2023 showed me the beauty of letting go and it was a beautiful ride! In giving up control, I found CLARITY. Clarity in defining what I really want, where to direct my focus, what goals I should set? It’s funny how easily we are influenced by the Insta highlight reels of others’ lives, making us believe we should aspire to have or do what they are doing? I took time to focus on what I want, the goals I want to strive for, and the what/who’s that bring me JOY!

Matthew McConaughey defines happiness as result orientated, “if I get this then I will be happy.” It is the viscous cycle of climbing a hill just to reach the top and realize there is always another hill/accomplishment to hit. Joy is more the verb, enjoying the process of DOING, essentially enjoying every moment good or bad on the journey of progress and growth. This year JOY was experienced throughout 2023 spending time with family and friends, taking amazing trips, seeing some of my favorite artists and comedians live, all while working toward some cool achievements. My cup runneth over with gratitude from all the blessings and experiences in 2023.

After successfully giving up coffee and alcohol this past year, I have made the decision to not bring either of them back in 2024. I believe it is great to challenge ourselves by doing HARD STUFF. This weekend I encourage each of you to reflect on 2023 in addition to setting personal, financial, professional, fitness, and fun goals for 2024. If you have a partner, this is a great exercise to do together. Thank you all for allowing me to serve you and your families and may all of us experience and find JOY in 2024!

Cheers to the Journey: Wrapping Up 2023 with Gratitude to Our Amazing Patients! Thank you for being a part of our story!

And that's a wrap on the amazing tapestry of 2023! Huge hugs and high-fives to everyone who joined us on this wild ride. Your laughter, support, and resilience turned ordinary days into extraordinary memories. As we step into the sunshine of 2024, let's carry all those good vibes, lessons learned, and a whole lot of optimism. Cheers to the fantastic journey we've had together, and get ready for more laughs, growth, and fun in the upcoming 2023. You're all the sparkle in our story, and we can't wait to create more magic together!
